Double Tenor Pans have a slightly bigger range than the Tenor pan with 31 notes. The main difference between
Tenor pans and Double Tenor pans is there are two pans instead of one.
When playing in a band Double Tenors often play the counter melodies or the harmony to what the Tenor Pans are playing.
There are two Double Tenor players in our band Sonia who has been playing since September 97' and Zoe who has been playing
on them since October 98'.
Double Tenors are one of the most difficult pans to play, this is because they are playing the tune over two pans.
Double Tenors play all the difficult lines with all the scales and fiddley bits.
